New Product Recommendation: Resin B-2622 for UV Adhesives

1

Keywords

High-viscosity polyurethane acrylate, UV adhesive.

2

Introduction

B-2622 is a high-viscosity, two-component aliphatic acrylate with a large molecular weight. It exhibits minimal shrinkage upon curing, excellent adhesion, superior weather resistance, and produces a transparent cured film with an elongation at break exceeding 900%.

3

Basic parameters

Note:

Mechanical property test formulation: B-2622 : IBOA : Photoinitiator 1173 = 80 : 20 : 4.

4

Basic Bonding and Performance Testing

The materials are shown in the table below. The peel strength of adhesives formulated as A and B, after curing with a 1000 mJ mercury lamp, was tested. Units: N/25 mm.

Formula B exhibits better adhesion than Formula A, and the monomer DMAA has superior strength compared to THFA. In Formula B, B-2622 demonstrates relatively good versatility across different substrates.

5

Water resistance test

Test Formula C:

After thoroughly mixing the raw materials in Formula C, apply a thick coat of 50 μm onto PET/PET. After curing under a mercury lamp, the coating remains intact when immersed in water at room temperature for 3 days; after wiping off the water droplets, the coating becomes transparent.

6

Examples of Adhesion for Specific Applications

Take the example of bonding an aluminum-plated mirror surface to PET:

After adhesion, the LED395 light source was cured, and the peel strength test yielded a result of 95 N/25 mm, indicating that the bond is extremely strong and virtually impossible to pull apart.

7

Application Scenario Recommendations

The main resin of UV/LED adhesives, or its blend with other resins, is used for bonding most materials such as PVC, PC, ABS, PMMA, PET, glass, and metals.
