Product Features
BH-5203E (3EO‑TMP) is a triethoxylated trimethylolpropane and an important intermediate in the production of UV monomers. It reacts with acrylic acid or methacrylic acid to yield UV monomers, which are used in UV‑curable coatings and inks. This triol is also employed in rigid polyurethane foams, polyurethane adhesives, waterborne polyurethanes, alkyd resins, TPU thermoplastic elastomers, and other applications. In addition, it can serve as a surfactant, plasticizer, lubricant, and dispersant.

Recommended Use
(1) Coatings/Inks Field
3EO‑TMP is a key raw material for the synthesis of ethoxylated trimethylolpropane triacrylate (TMP3EOTA). As the core structural backbone of high‑performance UV monomers, it imparts excellent leveling and low shrinkage to UV coatings and inks, preventing coating curling or delamination caused by internal stresses. Moreover, its trifunctional structure enables the formation of a dense crosslinked network during photopolymerization, significantly enhancing surface hardness, scratch resistance, and stain resistance. It is particularly recommended for applications requiring flexibility, such as wood floor coatings, coatings for plastic substrates, and flexographic and gravure inks.
(2) Rigid Polyurethane Foam Sector
In rigid polyurethane foams, 3EO‑TMP, as a triol, features a rigid TMP core that serves as a robust crosslinking site, providing a strong skeletal framework that effectively enhances the foam’s compressive strength and dimensional stability. Its hydrophilic polyether segments promote compatibility with blowing agents and catalysts, helping to fine‑tune cell structure and improve uniformity. Consequently, it is particularly well suited for applications in rigid foam insulation materials, such as building thermal insulation and cold‑chain refrigeration.
(3) Polyurethane Adhesives Sector
The molecular structure of 3EO‑TMP achieves an ideal balance between rigidity and flexibility: its trimethylolpropane core provides rigid crosslinking points, imparting high cohesive strength and heat resistance to the adhesive, while the flexible ethoxy chains act as “flexible spacers,” absorbing stress and strain to prevent brittle fracture of the adhesive layer. This architecture enables the resulting polyurethane adhesive to exhibit both excellent initial adhesion and outstanding long-term fatigue resistance and impact resistance. It is recommended for bonding dissimilar materials, such as metal to plastic or glass to rubber.
