BM3231: TMPTA

BM3231, trimethylolpropane triacrylate, commonly referred to as TMPTA, is a trifunctional UV monomer widely used in fields such as UV coatings and UV inks. It is currently the most widely used multifunctional UV monomer.

It has the following characteristics:

1. Fast curing speed: Due to its three acrylate double bonds, TMPTA can cure rapidly under UV irradiation.

2. High gloss: The cured film exhibits high glossiness, making it suitable for applications that require a high-gloss finish.

3. High Hardness: The cured film exhibits high hardness, making it suitable for surface coatings designed to enhance hardness.

4. High crosslink density: TMPTA can form a network structure with high crosslink density, thereby enhancing scratch resistance and wear resistance.

Although TMPTA offers numerous excellent performance characteristics, its cured film tends to be brittle, which may limit its application in certain scenarios that require flexibility. Due to its relatively low cost, it can serve as a cost-effective option, especially in applications where cost sensitivity is high, such as paper coatings and wood finishes.

In practical applications, TMPTA is typically used in combination with other UV monomers to achieve specific performance and curing characteristics.
