BM3384, it is propoxylated glyceryl triacrylate, abbreviated to 3PO-GPTA or GPTA, is a trifunctional UV monomer.
It has the following features:
1. Fast curing speed
As a trifunctional monomer, 3PO-GPTA can quickly participate in free radical polymerization reactions to form a three-dimensional network structure, thereby achieving rapid curing.
2. Good flexibility
The addition of propoxy groups to the molecular structure of 3PO-GPTA helps to increase the flexibility of the cured film and reduce its brittleness.
3. Low skin irritation
Compared with HDDA and TMPTA, 3PO-GPTA has lower skin irritation, which makes it more suitable in applications requiring low irritation.
4. Good pigment wettability
The molecular structure of 3PO-GPTA improves the dispersion and wettability of pigments, which is very important to produce high-quality UV coatings & UV inks and can improve the color intensity and uniformity of the products.
Due to its good pigment wettability, 3PO-GPTA is currently mainly used in UV inks.
